Slow cooker ziti
Serves 5













INGREDIENTS
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1⁄4 lbs ground turkey
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
8 oz mozzarella cheese
8oz of wheat or whole grain ziti/penne pasta
3 cups baby spinach
1 (15oz) can fire roasted tomatoes
1 (15oz) can tomato sauce

Directions
In a large skillet, brown ground turkey meat and onion over medium-high heat. Drain fat. Combine turkey, tomatoes, spinach, tomato sauce, water, garlic, and seasoning in a 5-6 quart slow cook. Cover and cook on low-heat for 6-7 hours or high-heat 3 hours.
If using low-heat, turn to high and stir in dry pasta, spinach and basil. Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes. Stir pasta, sprinkle mozzarella, cover and cook for another 10 minutes.
Let stand, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle basil on top and ENJOY!
